Russian Court Sentences 19 Over Deadly Crocus City Concert Hall Attack
A Moscow court sentenced 19 convicted who attacked Crocus City Concert and killed 149 people and injured more than 600 in 2024. Among the convicted, 15 were given life sentences, while the other four were given prison sentences ranging from 19 to 22 years. The four main perpetrators, who were all Tajik nationals, were arrested shortly after the incident, when the Islamic State, also known as ISIS-K, claimed responsibility for the attack. In addition, several other accomplices, including those who sold the perpetrators a car and provided them with housing, were also convicted in a closed trial. Although the attack was claimed by ISIS-K, Ukraine has been accused by Russia, including Vladimir Putin, without evidence, a claim Ukraine has denied.
